It is National Oreo Cookie Day! To celebrate I am posting one of my family’s favorite recipes!
Chocolate Oreo Balls
Ingredients:
Pack of Oreos (we use regular or mint)
Cream cheese softened 8 ozs
Chocolate candy melts
Make them:
Throw oreos in food processor to finely crush them. Add in softened cream cheese and blend it together with oreos.
On a cookie sheet place some parchment paper to cover it. You will place the oreo balls on this.
We use a cookie scoop to scoop out the oreo mixture and roll them into a ball. You can eyeball it and use a spoon. Make them about 1 inch in size.
After you have rolled them into a ball, put the oreo balls in the fridge for about an hour or two. This will harden them so they don’t fall apart when you dip them in the chocolate. I sometimes will freeze mine.
After they have had time to harden, melt the chocolate melts. Follow the directions on your package for best melting instructions.
When I take the oreo balls out I usually roll them again because sometimes they flatten.
Take an oreo ball and dip it in melted chocolate and roll it to cover the ball completely.
Place back on parchment paper and refrigerate until chocolate is hardened.
Enjoy!
