Driving today I was thinking, are other people really bothered when it takes you 30 mins to get somewhere if you don’t live in the country? I guess growing up in the country it never really bothered me if it took us a while to get somewhere. I was just happy to go. I mean it didn’t take 30 mins everywhere I went but at the same time it never seemed so bad from my point of view.
When we were first married we lived in the suburbs. I would still say city living but that is just me. It was, country or city when I was growing up. Yes we were close to everything! Target was 6 mins away, Walmart was 7 mins away, Short Pump where everything is located was 17 mins away, Food Lion was 10 minutes away, Virginia Center Marketplace area was 6 mins away. Yes it was convenient but I wouldn’t trade it for the world because we are now in the country!
So now being in the country we live about 10 mins from Food Lion, 30 mins from Walmart, in either direction we go there is one 30 mins away, about 35 mins from the mall in Short Pump, about 35 mins to the Virginia Center Marketplace area. Really it takes us longer to get to some of our friend’s houses because they live about an hour away. Country living can do that.
I have had so many people tell me that 30 minutes is SOOOO FAR! Heck I am happy when it only takes us 30 mins to get somewhere! Living out in the country, having land, having big parties with our friends, and just having a quiet place to relax is amazing! Country living is definitely the life for me!
