I couldn’t let this month go by without posting about Mental Health Awareness. This is something that I myself go through and struggle with. I have depression. In the past I have had suicidal thoughts but no worries I never acted on it. Life from the outside can seem happy and perfect but no one knows the struggles inside your mind.
Am I a happy person? Sure I am! Do I love my family and happy with them? Sure they are the best thing in my life! But those mean and nasty thoughts still creep in and don’t go away. I have struggled since I was a child but I didn’t have a clue until becoming an adult it was depression. I will have good days and I will have bad days. I am on medication for my depression. It helps but it doesn’t magically go away.
Are you alone in this? No you are not! People don’t always come out and say I have a mental illness. Will I be here for you? Yes 100 times yes! If you need a place to start you can talk to me. I am here, I will listen, I will love you no matter what! Please know you are not alone and can always get help. I pray for those who suffer in silence. Please know you are not alone. #mentalhealthawarenessmonth #mentalhealthmatters
