Homeschooling…it is that time of year again
Wow this summer is flying by. Not much longer till I am homeschooling the kiddos again. I have been working the past few weeks on copying out of books and workbooks. My goal is to get 6 weeks done for every subject. I feel that when I have the first 6 weeks done then I have my stuff together. Well that is at least how I feel until the first 6 weeks is up. I am very blessed to be able to homeschool my kids. My fear at first was that they would not be happy with it. So far so good and they say they love it!
I have now been homeschooling going on 4 years. That seems crazy to me because those 4 years have flown by so fast! I have had a lot of trial and error in the process. I am still trying to figure out what works best for us. This past year was probably the most stressful because we moved. Sure it is homeschool and we don’t have to worry about the kids going to a different school. We don’t have to worry about if they will like their teacher. (Well I really hope they like me as their teacher.)
What I had to worry about was the time it took for us to move and get used to living in a different house. Also for us to be able to find where our books were. Yes I labeled the boxes but I actually had a whole box I missed and I didn’t figure that out until the end of this school year. Guess I didn’t need it because the kids passed their evaluation.
This year I have had to figure out who to give the results to and where to send my Notice Of Intent to homeschool. I probably freaked out a little more than I should have but lucky I have friends who can calm me down when I freak out. One of my friends I love her so much and she is beyond awesome! She not only evaluates my kids for me but she helps me anytime I struggle to do anything with homeschool. She helped me figure out what to do.
So let the printing continue…yes I stopped making copies just to write a blog post.
What do you do to prepare for school/homeschool?
